You've narrowed your Slack HR shortlist to two tools that look alike on the pricing page. OrgaNice vs BuddiesHR: both live in Slack, both charge $1 per employee per app on yearly billing, and both cover the org chart, time off, birthdays, kudos, surveys and rewards. The difference is what you install. OrgaNice is one Slack app that runs every HR job and shares one set of employee data. BuddiesHR is a family of separate Slack apps sold by one vendor: Linky for the org chart, Palmy for time off, Billy for birthdays, Clappy for kudos and Pulsy for surveys. Each one has its own Marketplace listing, its own install and its own settings.
The short version: pick BuddiesHR if part of your company works in Microsoft Teams, your team has fewer than 10 people, or you want coffee chats, standups or performance reviews. Pick OrgaNice if your team works in Slack and you'd rather install, set up and roll out one app than five. On yearly billing, all six OrgaNice apps cost $1.80 per employee per month, and BuddiesHR's Culture OS bundle costs $2.00.

What is BuddiesHR?
BuddiesHR is a vendor that sells several separate HR apps for Slack and Microsoft Teams, built for remote SMBs. Its own site calls it "a suite of Slack apps". Each app has its own name, its own job and its own Slack Marketplace listing: Linky runs the org chart, Palmy handles time off, Billy posts birthdays, Clappy sends kudos, Pulsy runs surveys, Alfy pairs people for coffee chats and Stany runs async standups. An eighth product, SimplePerf, runs 360° performance reviews on the top plan. You add the apps one at a time, and BuddiesHR's pricing page invites you to "install one or two apps, add more as you grow."
BuddiesHR says more than 1,000 HR teams use it, and it shows a 4.8 rating on G2. It's free for teams under 10 people, offers a 30-day trial, and publishes every price on its pricing page. Every app works in both Slack and Teams, which matters if part of your company works in Teams.
What is OrgaNice?
OrgaNice is an employee engagement platform for Slack-first teams. One Slack bot covers six apps: org chart, time off, birthdays and anniversaries, kudos, surveys and rewards, plus free notifications for announcements and reminders. You pay for the apps you turn on, from $1.25 per employee per month, or $1.00 on yearly billing. The Upsilon team builds it, and it holds a 5/5 rating on G2.

One app to remember, or five: what your team sees in Slack
BuddiesHR gives admins one shared web dashboard. In Slack, where your team works, its apps stay separate. Billy, Clappy, Linky, Palmy and Pulsy each have their own Slack Marketplace listing and their own bot in the sidebar, and BuddiesHR's pricing page describes them as "configurable independently, one channel per app, separate notification settings." Covering the six jobs OrgaNice does takes five of them, since rewards sit inside Clappy.
That puts the work on your employees. For every HR task, they have to remember which app handles it. A day off means Palmy or the /palmy command. Thanking a colleague means Clappy. Looking someone up means Linky and its /whois command. The weekly pulse comes from Pulsy, and birthday posts come from Billy. Every new hire learns five app names before the HR side of Slack feels familiar.
With OrgaNice, your team remembers one name. Time off, kudos, the org chart, surveys and celebrations all start in the same app, and every part reads from the same employee data. Birthdays and work anniversaries come from the org chart, so nobody collects dates a second time, and kudos, survey answers and a complete profile all earn the same reward coins.

Separate apps work fine for a team that uses one or two of them. Each app you add is another name for people to learn and another bot posting to them. At 15 people with one app, it doesn't matter. At 80 people with five apps, every new hire has to learn which app does what. OrgaNice's view is that most growing teams outgrow a set of separate apps and end up moving to one platform. Count the HR tasks you expect to run a year from now before you choose.

OrgaNice vs BuddiesHR, feature by feature
On the BuddiesHR side, each section below covers a different app that you install and configure on its own. On the OrgaNice side, each one is part of the same app.
Org chart
BuddiesHR's Linky builds a searchable directory and org chart in Slack, Teams and the browser. It syncs names and photos from Slack, people fill in the rest, and you can add contractors or board members and export the chart as a PNG.
OrgaNice builds the org chart from Slack profile data, with a one-click AI first draft. It reminds people to fill in missing fields, sends admins a report of anyone who doesn't, syncs changes back to Slack profiles, and shares a read-only link with clients or investors.
Bottom line: both keep the chart current from Slack. OrgaNice puts more work into complete profiles, and its chart feeds the birthday and anniversary app.
Time off
Palmy takes requests through a /palmy command or a button. Managers approve or reject in Slack or Teams, and Palmy keeps a team calendar, updates Slack statuses and syncs with Google Calendar and Outlook.
OrgaNice handles time-off requests and one-click approvals in Slack, with an absence calendar, PTO policies that track accruals, rollovers and balances, national holidays by country, automatic Slack statuses and time-off reports.
“OrgaNice made vacation approvals easy by alerting the team through Slack”
Sander M.More reviews on G2Bottom line: pick BuddiesHR if Google Calendar or Outlook sync matters most. Pick OrgaNice if you want accrual and rollover rules, country holidays and reports in the same bot as the rest of your HR apps.
Birthdays and work anniversaries
Billy posts birthdays, work anniversaries and custom events, with GIF templates, weekend handling and posts to several channels. It collects dates by DM, from a spreadsheet you upload, or through a BambooHR or Lattice sync.
OrgaNice takes dates from the org chart, so there's no list to collect or import. The manager gets a reminder the day before and can edit or cancel the message before it posts.
Bottom line: BuddiesHR connects to the HR system you already run. OrgaNice skips date collection by reusing org chart data.
Kudos and rewards
Clappy sends public kudos tied to company values, with leaderboards, levels and rewards that you manage by hand or through a rewards platform.
OrgaNice kudos take under 10 seconds to send, link to your company values and come with weekly reminders to keep the habit going. Each kudos earns coins, and so do survey answers and a complete profile. People spend the coins in a rewards marketplace you build.
Bottom line: both tie recognition to values and rewards. In OrgaNice, the other apps feed the coins too.
Surveys
Pulsy runs weekly one-tap pulses, quarterly eNPS and ad-hoc polls. It lets you ask follow-up questions on anonymous answers without revealing who wrote them.
OrgaNice surveys start from templates, run on a schedule with automatic reminders, and report to a dashboard with export and AI insights on the results.
Bottom line: the basics match. Pulsy stands out for anonymous follow-ups. OrgaNice adds AI insights and rewards survey answers with coins.
What only one of them offers
BuddiesHR has apps that OrgaNice doesn't offer:
- Alfy for coffee chats and random pairings
- Stany for async standups
- SimplePerf for 360° performance reviews, on the $3 plan
- Microsoft Teams support for every app
OrgaNice includes a free notifications app for scheduled announcements and reminders, built from templates and custom blocks. BuddiesHR's site doesn't list an equivalent (as of October 2026).
Setup and day-to-day use in Slack
Both tools install through Slack, and neither needs an IT project. BuddiesHR says you can reach first use in about 60 seconds per app. Per app is the key part: covering the six HR jobs means five installs, and five app names for your team to learn.
With OrgaNice, you add the bot to your workspace, adjust settings in the admin panel, and the bot collects employee data through Slack. The org chart drafts itself in one click from Slack profiles, birthdays come from the org chart, and survey templates launch in about two minutes.
In both tools, requests, approvals, kudos and surveys happen in Slack messages, so your team uses them without learning a new portal. What differs is how many apps your team has to keep track of. OrgaNice sends everything from one bot, and it stops profile reminders after four before it reports gaps to admins. With BuddiesHR, each app posts in its own channel with its own notification settings, so plan which channel each app uses before you roll out three or more.
OrgaNice vs BuddiesHR pricing
Both tools charge per employee per app, and both discount yearly billing. BuddiesHR shows its prices on yearly billing, so the table compares yearly prices on both sides.
As of October 2026, from organice.app/pricing and buddieshr.com/pricing.
For a 50-person team on yearly billing, every OrgaNice app costs $90 a month, or $1,080 a year. BuddiesHR's Culture OS costs $100 a month, or $1,200 a year, and adds coffee chats and standups. With one app, each tool costs $50 a month. Under 10 people, BuddiesHR costs nothing. See the full OrgaNice pricing for monthly plans and the price calculator.
With prices this close, let the way your team works in Slack decide.
Security and where your data lives
Neither company holds a security certification. BuddiesHR says it isn't SOC 2 certified and builds to SOC 2 principles. It hosts all data in the EU (AWS in Paris and Hetzner in Germany), publishes its sub-processors, and charges $500 to complete a security questionnaire, according to its security page (as of October 2026).
OrgaNice follows security best practices and stores data in the United States on DigitalOcean. You can request deletion at any time through support@upsilonit.com, and OrgaNice deletes the data within three business days.
Who should choose BuddiesHR
BuddiesHR fits better if:
- part of your company works in Microsoft Teams
- your team has fewer than 10 people and wants a free plan
- you want coffee chats, async standups or performance reviews alongside the culture apps
- you need your data hosted in the EU
- you want birthdays synced from BambooHR or Lattice, or time off synced with Google Calendar or Outlook
- you plan to run one or two apps and no more
Who should choose OrgaNice
OrgaNice fits better if:
- your whole team works in Slack
- you want your team to remember one app for every HR task, not a different app name for each one
- you plan to run three or more HR tools and want them behind one bot and one install
- you want apps that share data: birthdays from the org chart, reward coins from kudos and surveys
- you want an org chart that keeps profiles complete and syncs changes back to Slack
- you want all six apps for $1.80 per employee per month on yearly billing
Neither tool replaces a full HR system. If you need payroll, benefits, hiring or compliance workflows, look at an HRIS. BuddiesHR says the same about itself.
Switching from BuddiesHR to OrgaNice
Switching from BuddiesHR? You get 50% off your first 3 months, and a migration assistant moves your data over for you. Tell us which BuddiesHR apps you use, and we'll scope the move with you before anything changes.
Clappy lets you export kudos history, and birthdays often already sit in the spreadsheet or HR system you connected to Billy, so the assistant has a starting point. The 14-day trial gives you full access, so you can set up OrgaNice before you switch anything off.
Verdict: count your apps, then choose
If your company uses Microsoft Teams, has under 10 people, or wants standups and performance reviews, BuddiesHR covers more ground. OrgaNice has nothing to match its Teams support or its free plan.
If your team works in Slack and you expect to run most of the six HR jobs, remember what BuddiesHR is in Slack: five or more separate apps from one vendor, and your team has to know which one to open for each task. OrgaNice gives you one app, one install and one set of employee data for $1.80 per employee per month. Write down the HR jobs you'll run a year from now. If the list runs past two, picture how many app names each new hire will have to learn in their first week.
